Now that the NBA Draft is complete and the few amount of trades that happened are official, I wanted to do something different than the traditional draft grades post. I looked at the grades each team got on ESPN (Insider) and wanted to put together my thoughts on what took place so far this offseason. Continue reading
So I realize I haven’t actually written anything in nearly a month, and I wanted to apologize to all of you who have been looking for new Zocco’s Modern Life content. I got busy with a new job and also a little lazy. While neither of those things are an excuse there is a lot of NBA, NFL and MLB offseason stuff to talk about.
I will use this notebook format to quickly touch on various topics from the past month in the NBA. I plan on doing an MLB podcast in the very near future to discuss some of the offseason moves that have occurred, and as you hopefully figured out by now NBA podcasts are always on the horizon.
Now that I got all of that out, lets get to my NBA notebook: Continue reading
Yes, the headline is intended to mimic the “MJ Being MJ” headline from last week when Michael Jordan took to Twitter to show his competitive nature is still alive and well. Charlotte Hornets guard Lance Stephenson was at his antics again last night when he video bombing new New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher after a 96-93 Knickerbocker win. Continue reading
Majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets Michael Jordan took over the team’s official twitter account @hornets today, and lets just say MJ’s competitiveness hasn’t wavered one bit. Professional golfer Keegan Bradley (@Keegan_Bradley) tweeted at MJ and had an interesting choice of words for one of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball. Continue reading
Today has become the unofficial start of basketball season to many as the most popular basketball video game has hit the shelves. EA Sports’ NBA 2K15 is this year’s version of the basketball game that comes with many new features, including a face scanning capability that puts you in the game more than ever before.
It has become a ritual for me to go and buy the NBA 2K series every year when it comes out, and every year I am even more impressed than the last. This year is no different. Granted, I am only three games in and have not even touched any of the game modes (my impressions on those coming in the next few days), but so far so good.
(It is almost like Shabazz is waving goodbye) Here is my first person recollection of how my draft night went from awesome to terrible in the blink of an eye. And to think all of this happened because of one stinkin tweet by the King:
My favorite player in the draft! #Napier
— LeBron James (@KingJames) June 27, 2014
So thanks a lot LeBron, from every UConn fan. Here it goes.
With the 2014 NBA Draft set to take place on Thursday, June 26 which is just a little over a week away I realize I am late to the NBA Mock Draft party (ESPN’s Chad Ford just put up his Mock Draft 8.0). I waited until know to make some predictions of who will be drafted when because who really cared about the draft while the NBA Finals were going on (Go Spurs!).
With that being said here is my Mock Draft Zocc.0 (pronounced zock-point-oh), which is a little different than all the other mock drafts out there because mine includes trades. The current draft order (before any of my predicted trades) is the picture about the article in an attempt to not confuse you too much. So here goes nothing. Enjoy my mock and get ready for a crazy draft night on June 26!
