As I watch No. 21 SMU Mustangs play the unranked, defending National Champion Connecticut Huskies on this snowy Sunday in Connecticut I can’t help but think about how good this Mustang team would have been if their top recruit decided to go to college. I also can’t help but think about how this talented UConn team is going to miss the NCAA Tournament barring some crazy American Athletic Conference Tournament run, and part of me thinks that winning the conference tournament is very possible (where have we seen a UConn team do that before). The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team is coming off its fourth National Championship in school history and was lead last year by point guard Shabazz Napier. Even though Napier is now in the NBA the Huskies’ replacement for him has shown he can set the tone defensively and lead as Napier once did.
The No. 17 Huskies defeated the Bryant Bulldogs in their season opener Friday night, 66-53. Not everything went as planned in Storrs, Conn. for a team that received its National Championship rings prior to the game. Continue reading
(It is almost like Shabazz is waving goodbye) Here is my first person recollection of how my draft night went from awesome to terrible in the blink of an eye. And to think all of this happened because of one stinkin tweet by the King:
My favorite player in the draft! #Napier

So thanks a lot LeBron, from every UConn fan. Here it goes.
With the 2014 NBA Draft set to take place on Thursday, June 26 which is just a little over a week away I realize I am late to the NBA Mock Draft party (ESPN’s Chad Ford just put up his Mock Draft 8.0). I waited until know to make some predictions of who will be drafted when because who really cared about the draft while the NBA Finals were going on (Go Spurs!).
With that being said here is my Mock Draft Zocc.0 (pronounced zock-point-oh), which is a little different than all the other mock drafts out there because mine includes trades. The current draft order (before any of my predicted trades) is the picture about the article in an attempt to not confuse you too much. So here goes nothing. Enjoy my mock and get ready for a crazy draft night on June 26!
The UConn men’s and women’s basketball teams both won the Division I National Championship this past April, accomplishing this feat for the second time in the school’s history. UConn is the only school to win both championships in the same year and last did it 10 years ago in 2004.
Stefanie Dolson was a part of a memorable moment as she had some trouble keeping her balance. President Barack Obama, in mid hand shake with women’s coach Geno Auriemma, noticed Dolson and first made sure she was okay. Then laughs filled the room.
